One Saturday Afternoon

On Saturday, Brian and I decided to go to Heidelberg, which is another city about 20 minutes away. We go there quite often but we have never taken the time to explore. Until this weekend.

We had an overpriced breakfast at an "American Diner"

Then walked around the ruins of the Heidelberg Castle

On our way home, we took the back roads through the small towns. At one point, we came to a place where we had to take the ferry across a small river.

Pregnancy Insomnia

For any man out there who might be interested in knowing what it is like to sleep when you are pregnant:
This is what you need to do one night in steps:

1: Find a 4 pound squirrel (good luck) . Make it really mad and swallow it.
2. Lay down in bed and enjoy the feeling of the squirrel trying to escape through your stomach. You can't lay on your stomach or on your back though.
3. Play a recording of a snoring man next to your year.
4. When the squirrel calms down a little bit and you are getting used to the snoring and you feel like you are finally falling asleep, you feel the need to turn on your other side.
5. After a 2 minute maneuver, lay on your left side, which wakes up the squirrel so she is up again and kicking.
6. Wait until the squirrel calms down again and you are falling asleep.
7. All of a sudden you have to jump out of bed and run to the restroom because your bladder is too small these days.
8. Now you are wide awake and ready to start the process all over again, but mother nature just might throw you a curve ball and you might get a terrible cramp in your leg.

So this was my night last night but I wouldn't change it for the world. In the end I get a sweet baby boy out of it so I will endure!

Baby Boy at 29 weeks

This is our latest picture of our son. It was taken at 29 weeks and he was 3 lbs 4 oz and 16 inches. He is long and lean for his age.
The doctor has already said that he has Brian's lips and last time he said he will also get his nose from Brian. I am starting to wonder if he will get anything from me. Actually, I am pretty sure he will be stubborn like me!

The doctor takes a 3D ultrasound every time now and I am glad because the regular ultrasounds are getting tricky to recognize. So now we get to see him sleeping and moving around.

We also went to tour the hospital where he will be delivered and I am excited for the day we get to go back there and bring home a baby boy.
They have three delivery rooms and each is equipped a little differently. One has a birthing tub, one has a contraption-looking swing, a birthing ball and a bed. The last one has a bed that is called an island and it turns in different ways in order to make the woman in birth as comfortable as possible. Every room has ropes hanging from the ceiling to grab onto, bars fastened to the wall, music player and aromatherapy oils.

I like the hospital, it has a very nice and calm environment and they seem to truly focus on making the mothers  as comfortable as possible.

Brian's Birthday

We celebrated Brian's birthday at home with a few friends, Michael and Ardita, Saleem and LaShawna. I made the cake and I sure wasn't shy with the chocolate. (Phone pictures so please excuse the poor quality.)

Munich pictures

I already wrote plenty about our trip to Munich so let me share some pictures now.

We took a walk through the downtown area our first night

Our dinner at the restaurant portion of "THE" beer hall.

On our way home we stopped at the archaeological museum and enjoyed their exhibition called "People and Things". It was very large so I will only post a few pictures.

Coin Making instruments.

This Greek restaurant had great food and wonderful service.

Day trip to Vienna

From Bratislava, we took a speedboat to Vienna on the Danube river and spent the day there. We walked through the city center and visited the Schonbrunn Palace.

In front of Schonbrunn

During a carriage ride that we took we saw the entire gardens.

Blog finally updated

In the process of moving we have misplaced our camera charger and had to wait a month or so to get a new one in the mail. I am going to post the pictures we took with our camcorder and our phone cameras so please excuse the low quality pictures.
Here we go:

First, here are some pictures from August when we visited my parents in Slovakia

Brian took up mushroom picking

We took a ski lift to the top pf the mountain.
Brian found a new friend, Mars.
